SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) measures how efficiently an air conditioner or heat pump cools your home. The new SEER2 standard, effective January 1, 2023, was introduced by the Department of Energy to better reflect real-world performance. In the North, systems must be rated 13.4 SEER2 or higher, while in the Southeast and Southwest, split systems under 45,000 BTU require 14.3 SEER2 or more. At TEX Heating and AC, we offer units ranging from 14.3 SEER2 efficiency to 20 SEER2.
